I downloaded ant renamer a long time ago and remember using it to get rid of special characters and numbers in my cc files, which was supposed to cut down on loading time and such. It never borked my game (that I could tell) but now I don't remember the source of that advice and want to check in with you all: renaming files, do or don't?

Does there exist a site just to make CC requests?

For legacy writers of sims 2 or sims 3:
I've been using photobucket to store my images, but it's proven to be quite a hassle with all the limits and bandwidth and stuff. What do you normally use or do to keep your posting in order? Which service do you use to upload your images?

I use a PC, and I've been trying to get pictures by screenshoting the game. However, every time I take a screenshot, minimize the game and paste it into paint, it just shows an image of my desktop. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to play in windowed mode in order for it to work, and if so, how do I do that?

I always see people saying "I used so and so's color actions." What are color actions and how do you use them?

This may sound a bit obvious, but does anyone have advice for taking better pictures? I have a good computer so I can put graphics up to high, I know how to set up a good shot, yet everyone else's pictures seem to turn out a lot better. When I try to download certain asian files, I get a filename with question marks, like this: ??????.pkg. Izarc won't extract these, and I can't figure out how to rename them while they're still in the .rar or .zip. It also looks like if he archive has even one "incorrect" character in it in even one file, Izarc won't extract any of the files ( Read more... )

If a paysite such as T$R or Newsea puts trackers in their files, will the recolors of that item have trackers in them as well, or only the mesh file?

I've heard different things about moving sims and stuff.
I know that one big NO! is moving occupied lots neighborhood to neighborhood. I've even heard that another NO! is picking up an occupied lot at all and moving.

So...is it safe to just move out some sims and into a new lot? Or are all of my sims destined to live in the same place their whole

I was wondering what would happen if I use default replacement skin and hairs, package up my sims without any CC (excl. defaults), and someone else downloads them and puts them in game. Would the sim have their default eyes and hair, or would it install my defaults as new CC/new defaults?
